Why Work with Me

Photography isn’t just what I do, it’s how I see the world.

I’m Kath, a mum to two girls, and I’ve called Sydney’s Eastern Suburbs home for 25 years. This is where my life, my family, and my work are rooted. Also, there isn’t a day that goes by without me thinking, “oh, that’s pretty light.”

But my why goes deeper than aesthetics.

I lost my mum when I was three. The only thing I truly have of her are photographs, thanks to a photography loving granddad (clearly hereditary).  I grew up with images of her that still anchor me to love, presence, and belonging. I don’t take that lightly, ever.

That’s why I photograph mothers and families.

Mothers are the original safe place. The calm in the chaos. The ones who somehow make everything survivable just by being there. That tenderness, strength, and emotional labour deserve to be seen.

I’m a baby whisperer, a toddler wrangler, and I have a special talent for making dads feel like the photos were definitely their idea. My superpower? Making people feel safe, seen, and comfortable,  introverted extrovert energy at its finest.

Your session will feel more like time spent together than a photoshoot. There will be laughter, warmth, and zero pressure. If the kids go rogue? Perfect. Rogue kids make the best photos.

You’ll walk away with images that don’t just show how beautiful your family looks — but what it feels like to belong to each other.

That’s why people work with me.

And that’s why this work matters so deeply.
